What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a professional exfoliating treatment that uses a solution of safe, skin friendly acids to remove dead skin cells, improve texture, and reveal smoother, fresher skin..

What skin concerns can chemical peels treat?

Chemical peels can help improve dull , uneven skin tone, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, and acne scarring, pigmentation and sun damage, rough or congested skin.

Are chemical peels safe?

Yes, when performed by a trained professional, chemical peels are very safe.

Are there different types of chemical peels?

Yes. Peels vary in strength: Superficial/ light peels (e.g. hyaluronic acid or lactic acid): gentle and no downtime. Medium-depth peels. (e.g. Pro Blitz Peel, Xpert Peel or Biphasic Peel) Deep peels. (should be performed by a doctor.)

Will my skin actually peel?

Peeling varies depending on the type of peel used. Some client experience light flaking, while other may have more noticeable peeling or none at all. The treatment is still effective even if you don't visibly peel.

Do Chemical peels hurt?

You may feel a tingling or mild stinging sensation during the treatment, but this is very tolerable and temporary.

How should I prepare for  a peel?

Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, waxing, and strong active (like Vitamin C or AHA's) 3-5 days before your treatment. Always follow your therapist's specific instructions.

What is the aftercare?

Keep skin hydrated and protected. Avoid heat, sweating, heaters and fires, as well as sun exposure for 3-5 days. Do not pick at peeling skin. Use only gentle, soothing products. (you will be given aftercare samples that will last 3 days).  Always apple SPF 30-50 every day.

How often should I have a chemical peel?

Light peels can be done every 2-4 weeks, medium peels every 4-6 weeks. A course of treatments is recommended for best results.
